  • Terra founder Do Kwon is believed to be on the run as South Korean authorities call on Interpol to issue a red notice to nab the disgraced ‘crypto guru.’
  • Kwon took to Twitter to tell off the crypto world, reminding them that unless you’re playing a GPS-based Web3 game, you have no business knowing where he is.

He was once one of the most powerful, richest and influential men in the crypto world. Now, he’s a fugitive on the run from authorities. Do Kwon’s tragic downfall could be getting worse soon, with authorities in his home country of South Korea now calling on Interpol to issue a red notice.

Kwon is the founder of Terraform Labs, the company behind LUNA and UST, two tokens that collapsed in May after the latter failed to stay pegged to the US dollar. Since then, he has been sued by several investors for creating the crypto industry’s most disastrous project yet.

However, it got worse when South Korean authorities got involved. It started with the government issuing an arrest warrant for him and quickly escalated into a move to invalidate his passport. He was initially believed to be living in Singapore but authorities there have denied the claims.

Now, Korean police are reportedly calling on Interpol to issue a red notice for Kwon. The Financial Times reports that the Seoul Southern District Prosecutor’s Office believes that he is refusing to cooperate and wants help to nab him.

We have begun the procedure to place him on the Interpol red notice list and revoke his passport. We are doing our best to locate and arrest him. He is clearly on the run as his company’s key finance people also left for the same country during that time.

A red notice at Interpol is a request to all authorities globally to “locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender or similar legal action,” the agency’s website states.

Kwon is unworried, at least according to his tweets. In his usual trash-talking manner, he told off Crypto Twitter, reminding them that his location was none of their business.
