  • Months after 3Commas denied having an API leak, the company finally admitted to the leak.
  • More than $15 million may have been stolen from 3Commas users to date.

Victims of the API leak at 3Commas, a crypto trading bot provider, are demanding refunds and an apology from the company. The leak, which was confirmed by 3Commas co-founder Yuriy Sorokin on December 28, saw a database of API keys shared by a hacker.

Sorokin initially denied that there had been a hack, and instead suggested that any leaked APIs were the result of customers being phished. However, he later admitted that there had been a “sizeable API leak” from the company.

The leak has caused significant financial losses for some users, who had their API keys used to make unauthorized trades. Some users have lost hundreds of thousands of dollars, and are now demanding that 3Commas compensate them for their losses.

In addition to refunds, victims are also demanding an apology from 3Commas for gaslighting them over the whole ordeal. Sorokin’s initial denial of the hack caused many users to believe that they had been phished, and that they were therefore responsible for their own losses.

3Commas has not yet responded to the demands of the victims. However, the company has said that it is working to reimburse users who were affected by the leak.

The API leak at 3Commas is a reminder of the importance of security when using crypto trading bots. Users should only share their API keys with trusted third-parties, and they should always be vigilant for phishing attacks.

If you have been affected by the 3Commas API leak, you should contact the company immediately to request a refund. You should also take steps to secure your crypto accounts, such as changing your passwords and enabling two-factor authentication.
