MTV to Host First Ever Metaverse-Inspired Award Show Ft Eminem and Snoop-Dogg
- MTV, a cable channel revealed that Legendary Hip Hop star Snoop Dogg and the rap god will be performing the duo’s hit single “From the D 2 The LBC” at the Video Music Awards this Sunday.

This probably should have happened a while ago! In the hit single “From the D 2 The LBC” lyrics state, Well, it’s happening this Sunday. MTV revealed on Thursday that Eminent Hip Hop stars Eminem and Snoop Dogg will be performing their hit Single From the D 2 The LBC during the Video Music Awards (VMAs).
“GET READY… [Eminem and Snoop Dogg] are bringing “From the D 2 The LBC” to the VMAs stage for a world premiere performance,” MTV said.

Dating back from September 14, 1984, MTV will be holding the 37th video award presentation on August 28, 2022, at 8 p.m. (EST). The glorious bits will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, hosted by LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj, and Jack Harlow. On August 25, MTV shared the good news through a tweet.

“From the D 2 The LBC” NFTs From Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC)
Eminem and Snoop Dogg are known for their zealous love for NFTs and the “From the D 2 The LBC” music video features the artists’ high-profile NFTs in an animated fashion. Both NFTs featured in the music video were purchased for a whooping six figures where Eminem owns BAYC #9,055 and Snoop Dogg owns BAYC #6,723
This news follows after the creators of the Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) non-fungible token (NFT) collection, Yuga Labs, co-founders Gordon Goner, and Gargamel released their licensing rights for crypto punks and Meebits owners in mid-march 2022. The Intellectual Property License allows NFT owners to use them for personal use or commercial purposes like what Eminem did with BAYC #9,055. Just a few days ago Eminem shared a post of him, Snoop Dogg, and legendary music producer Dr. Dre and Snoop.
Other popular artists who have emersed themselves into NFTs include video of the year VMA award winner Lil Nas X who was supposed to collaborate with Tiktok owned by Chinese company ByteDance and release NFTs with the company.
Tiktok struck a deal with the social media influencer and pop musician Bella Poarch and released NFTs adjacent to Grimes who managed to collect $6 million from the NFT sale. A report published by RollingStone described Tiktok’s collaboration with famous artists as “a challenge,” “a mess,” and “a complete joke.
