Garlinghouse in Rage Over Twitter’s Incompetence
- Garlinghouse has rebuked the Twitter workforce for being unable to tell apart the true profiles of crypto influencers from pretend ones.
- Garilnghouse said that rip-off Twitter accounts with a blue tick impersonate him.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has slammed Twitter for its inability to distinguish between real and fake crypto profiles. Garlinghouse tweeted that verified scam accounts are now replying to tons of crypto tweets with his image, as well as the images of other crypto leaders such as Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin and Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao.
Garlinghouse said that Twitter’s failure to address the problem of fake crypto profiles is “embarrassing” and is allowing scammers to take advantage of users. He called on Twitter to take action to remove the fake profiles and to make it easier for users to identify real profiles.
Garlinghouse’s comments come as the cryptocurrency industry is facing a growing problem with scams. In recent months, there have been a number of high-profile cases of people being scammed out of large sums of money through fake crypto investments.
The problem is particularly acute on Twitter, which is a popular platform for crypto traders and investors. Scammers often create fake profiles that look like the profiles of real crypto leaders, and then use these profiles to post fraudulent messages.
Twitter has taken some steps to address the problem, but it is clear that more needs to be done. The company needs to improve its ability to identify and remove fake profiles, and it needs to make it easier for users to identify real profiles.
In the meantime, users should be careful about who they interact with on Twitter. If you receive a message from someone who claims to be a crypto leader, be sure to verify their identity before sending them any money.
