K9 Finance Raises Bounty to 20 ETH for Shibarium Hacker

K9 Finance has once again put a tempting bounty on the table for the Shibarium bridge hacker, urging the exploiter to return stolen KNINE tokens before the offer expires. Shiba Inu ecosystem lead developer Kaal Dhairya emphasized the urgency, tweeting, “Grab free cash before the offer expires this time.”

The new offer, made on November 3, represents a significant increase from the previous 5 ETH bounty, now totaling 20 ETH—a 300% rise. K9 Finance, a staking affiliate of the Shiba Inu ecosystem, framed the day as a “lucky opportunity” for the hacker to make amends.

Previous Bounty Attempts and Hacker Response

Initially, K9 Finance had offered 5 ETH following the September 12 flash loan attack, exceeding the standard 10% bounty for white-hat hackers. Despite additional incentives, including 50 ETH offered to recover all stolen assets, the hacker remained unresponsive.

Now, the Shibarium bridge hacker has engaged for the first time, requesting an increased bounty of 50 ETH to return all 248 billion KNINE tokens. The total stolen assets were valued at $717,000 at the time of the attack, currently standing at $340,256, with the hacker demanding roughly 48.5% of the recovered value in ETH. Some stolen funds have already been liquidated, including USDT, USDC, and 3.2 ETH from BAD tokens.

Shiba Inu Tightens Security Post-Hack

The Shibarium bridge has resumed operations, although users still feel the hack’s ripple effects. Developers have recovered 4.6 million BONE tokens and implemented tighter security measures. Over 100 contracts across Shibarium, Shiba Inu Metaverse, and ShibaSwap were migrated to multi-signature wallets. Additionally, a blacklist feature now blocks malicious accounts from participating in staking activities.
