March 14 Deadline Sparks Panic as Pi Network Users Face Mainnet Transfer Failures

Pi Network users face frustration as unresolved technical issues prevent them from migrating their Pi Coins to the Mainnet before the critical March 14 deadline, risking the loss of most of their holdings.

Many Pioneers demand an extension, arguing that the network has not adequately addressed migration errors, leaving their balances stuck despite completing required steps.

With the March 14 deadline fast approaching, Pi Network users—known as Pioneers—are growing increasingly concerned about their ability to transfer their mined Pi Coins (PI) to the blockchain’s Mainnet. Many users report unresolved technical issues, sparking demands for an extension as they risk losing the majority of their holdings.

March 14: A Critical Deadline for Pi Holders

Pi Network has set 8:00 AM UTC on March 14, 2025, as the final deadline for completing Know Your Customer (KYC) verification and migrating coins to the Mainnet. Failure to meet this requirement means users will lose most of their PI, except for coins mined within the past six months. While the network has extended the Grace Period multiple times to ensure maximum user participation, this final deadline appears firm.

A recent Pi Network blog post clarified the decision, stating: “The end of the Grace Period is inevitable to make sure the network can move on in its new phase without large sums of unverified and unclaimed mobile balances.” However, many Pioneers argue that unresolved technical issues make it impossible to comply, making the deadline unfair and impractical.

Unresolved Issues Leave Users in Limbo

Despite the urgency, many users are unable to transfer their balances due to persistent system errors. One user, Jaro Giesbrecht, shared his frustrations on social media, stating that he had completed all necessary steps but was still unable to migrate his PI. “The Pi network has done nothing to help solve this problem. It is a very common problem,” he posted, urging the network to extend the deadline until all migration issues are addressed.

Other users echoed his complaints, pointing out that their balances remain unverified despite their entire security circles completing KYC. One Pioneer remarked: “The whole process is a joke. ~80% of my balance shows as unverified, although all of my security circle has completed KYC. No additional actions are listed to be taken to clear this up. Furthermore, nobody got back to me on a support ticket I opened weeks ago.”

Will Pi Network Address the Complaints?

A particularly frustrating issue for many users is the unresolved Step 9 on the Mainnet checklist—“Migrate to Mainnet.” Even those who have completed previous steps find their Pi balances stuck due to migration errors. With no official response addressing these concerns, many Pioneers fear they will lose access to their holdings due to technical shortcomings beyond their control.

As the deadline looms, pressure mounts on the Pi Network team to either resolve the technical barriers or extend the deadline to prevent users from losing their coins. Whether the project will respond to these growing concerns remains to be seen.
