Decentralized International Hacktivist “Anonymous” Sets Sight on BAYC NFT Collectors

• Anonymous has published a video that is warning NFT enthusiasts and collectors of Bored Ape Yacht Club, a collection of 10,000 unique Bored Ape NFTs.
• The project has recently faced accusations of connections to Nazi imagery, and some of its members have also been accused of pedophilia.

Decentralized international hacktivist “Anonymous” has taken an interest in Bored Ape Yacht Club. This is a collection of 10,000 unique NFTs- unique digital collectibles on the Ethereum blockchain. This is arguably the most popular and expensive collection in the space.

Since their launch, there have been high-profile purchases by celebrities like Snoop Dogg, Serena Willimas, Jimmy Fallon, and recently Justin Beiber. Despite prices dropping by more than 50% in the last few weeks, the floor price of a BAYC is a little over $150,000.

Why Anonymous is Looking into BAYC

In a video widely shared on social media, the hacktivist group has noted that there have been accusations involving the collection and its representative art. The accusations involve racism, simianization, nazisim, occultism, and even pedophilia which are all attached to the symbolism within the components that make up the collection.

Anonymous is now taking an interest and looking into the accusations. With the hacktivist questioning why the accusations have not been put to rest, it has confirmed it will be investigating the accusations. After, it will be making public the findings of its investigation. In part, it will look into the awareness of enthusiasts and the intent of its creators.

We don’t care if you have Nazi, fascist, or Nihilist views, and there’s not much we can do if you are internal supporters of Pedophilia. But what we would take issue with is if a brand would inject those ideologies to unsuspecting collectors and enthusiasts…

The group warns that the investigations might take months at the minimum but with allegations popping up daily, they have their work cut out.
