  • EMURGO Ventures is a venture capital initiative that promotes and finance Cardano blockchain startups.
  • Its Web3 solution has the potential to improve the overall operational efficiency of the Cardano blockchain.

EMURGO Ventures, the investment arm of EMURGO, has announced that it has made investments in two non-Cardano blockchain projects: OAK and SubQuery.

OAK is an automation infrastructure for Defi and recurring payments. It is a Web3 hub for trustless, automated decentralized finance (DeFi) and digital payments. OAK allows transactions to be executed by specific event signals such as time, price, and smart contract state changes.

SubQuery is an open-source blockchain data indexer for developers that provides fast, flexible, reliable, and decentralized APIs to power leading multi-chain apps. It is an open data indexer that is flexible and fast, and the open indexing tool helps developers build APIs in hours and quickly index chains with the assistance of dictionaries (pre-computed indices). SubQuery’s tools allow developers to organize, store, and query on-chain data for their protocols and applications.

These investments are part of EMURGO Ventures’ strategy to expand Cardano’s Web3 ecosystem by investing in projects that can add value to the Cardano blockchain. The venture firm is looking to invest in projects that can help to improve the efficiency and scalability of the Cardano blockchain, as well as projects that can help to onboard new users to the Cardano ecosystem.

Kaimin Hu, Partner at EMURGO Ventures, said:

“To accelerate the acceptance and understanding of Web3, our industry must always stay focused on building real products that provide vastly better services than existing ones. EMURGO Ventures is deeply committed to investing in and building the future of the Cardano ecosystem regardless of market cycles. The recent investments that EMURGO Ventures has made aim to diversify Cardano’s future Web3 ecosystem with a wider range of interoperable products, services, and developer tools.”

These investments are a sign that EMURGO Ventures is committed to expanding the Cardano ecosystem and making it more accessible to developers and users. OAK and SubQuery are both promising projects that have the potential to add value to the Cardano blockchain. It will be interesting to see how these investments play out in the future.
