Billy Markus, also known as Shibetoshi Nakamoto, a prominent figure in the cryptocurrency world and the co-founder of the renowned meme coin DOGE, recently revealed his interest in the Subscriber feature on the X app. Markus, who initiated the DOGE coin with Jackson Palmer in 2013, took to social media to express his growing fondness for the X app’s Subscriber function, particularly during his weekend strolls.

Markus’s post, lauding the Subscriber feature, garnered attention from Elon Musk, the current steward of the X app, who, despite never having met Markus in person, acknowledged and supported the initiative with a simple yet encouraging comment.

Integrating the Subscriber feature on the X app has prompted discussions regarding optimal subscription fees. An X user suggested Markus consider reducing his subscription fee to $1 to attract a broader audience. This sparked a conversation where Markus revealed constraints in altering the fee due to platform settings, which limit such modifications.

Introduced earlier in the year, the Subscriber feature enables users to charge a nominal monthly fee to their subscribers, allowing them to earn from their content. The earning potential fluctuates based on the subscriber count, visible only to the provider. Markus, with a follower count of 2.1 million, stands to gain significant subscriptions potentially. Alongside the Subscriber feature, Markus, like many other influencers on X, shares in the ad revenues generated by the platform.

Markus expressed enthusiasm for the opportunities provided by the X app, embracing the chance to earn through content creation. However, he noted a reduction in his earnings in September, attributing this decrease to the growing number of content creators compensated by the platform.
