Key Takeaways:
- VBILL is now eligible collateral on Aave Horizon.
- Chainlink NAVLink ensures secure, transparent NAV data.
- Institutional investors gain new capital efficiency through tokenized Treasuries.
Securitize and VanEck Push Tokenized Treasuries Deeper Into DeFi
Securitize and VanEck have expanded the frontiers of institutional DeFi by integrating the VanEck Treasury Fund (VBILL) into Aave’s Horizon real-world asset (RWA) market, powered by Chainlink’s NAVLink oracle feeds. The move turns VBILL into an eligible collateral asset, unlocking new liquidity pathways for tokenized Treasuries.
Launched on August 27, 2025, Aave Horizon has rapidly grown into DeFi’s fastest-expanding RWA platform, surpassing $500 million in market size. Built on Aave Protocol v3.3, it provides a regulated, institutional-grade environment for bridging traditional finance and decentralized liquidity—an emerging model often called hybrid finance (HyFi).
Chainlink NAVLink Enhances Transparency and Reliability
At the heart of the integration is Chainlink’s NAVLink framework and LlamaGuard NAV, delivering risk-adjusted net asset value (NAV) data for Securitize-managed tokenized funds like VBILL. This ensures every collateral position on Horizon is accurately priced and verifiable onchain.

Securitize plans to integrate its Trusted Single Source Oracle (TSSO) next, enhancing data assurance and regulatory compliance by providing an auditable trail of NAV reporting.
“Integrating VBILL with Aave and Chainlink expands access to trusted onchain collateral,” said Carlos Domingo, CEO of Securitize. “It shows how regulated assets can now move fluidly through DeFi.”
Unlocking Capital Efficiency for Institutions
By adding VBILL to Horizon, qualified investors can now borrow stablecoins against tokenized Treasuries, turning passive assets into productive, yield-generating collateral. VanEck’s Kyle DaCruz called the move “a natural evolution for tokenized securities,” emphasizing the combination of traditional safety with DeFi’s composability.

For Aave Labs, the integration represents a major step toward institutional-scale DeFi. Founder Stani Kulechov said the partnership delivers “a trusted framework that enables institutions to bring RWAs onchain with confidence.”
The Future of Institutional DeFi
VBILL’s arrival signals a new phase of onchain capital efficiency—where high-quality, regulated instruments like Treasuries become dynamic components of decentralized markets. With $500 million already on Horizon and more tokenized assets entering weekly, Securitize, VanEck, and Chainlink are establishing a clear model for compliant, data-secure institutional DeFi.
