- Shytoshi Kusama has returned after a three-week silence, urging the SHIB team to refocus and push forward with upcoming projects.
- His recent message highlights the Karma reputation system, a new feature designed to reward user engagement within the Shiba Inu ecosystem.
In a recent post on his Telegram channel, Kusama shared an urgent call to action, saying, “Next week let’s go back to it can we?” This message, though brief, hints at a reinvigorated commitment to pushing forward the ambitious projects within the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Whether it’s a sign of new developments or a re-energized focus on ongoing initiatives, the SHIB community is eager to see what’s next.

Alongside this, Kusama shared a podcast episode of Shy Speaks SHIB, in which he discussed the integration of the Karma reputation system into SHIB’s testnet, Puppynet. Karma, a key innovation, is designed to reward user engagement within the Shiba Inu network, particularly on the layer-2 solution Shibarium. It assigns a reputation score based on various activities like SHIB coin burns, purchasing virtual land in the metaverse, and adding liquidity to the network. This “XP system,” as described by Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya, could be a game-changer for users looking to enhance their participation in the ecosystem.
However, not all is smooth sailing for SHIB. The burn rate, a crucial metric for reducing SHIB’s circulating supply, has plummeted by nearly 98% recently. Despite a promising market recovery, the low burn rate has sparked concerns about the effectiveness of these deflationary measures.
Kusama’s latest message, paired with the introduction of the Karma system, signals a renewed focus on expanding the Shiba Inu ecosystem. Whether this will lead to a successful resurgence in activity and token burns remains to be seen. One thing is clear, though—the SHIB community is waiting with bated breath to see where Kusama’s leadership takes them next.
