Gamers Flock Blockchain Gaming DApps To Earn Cypto
- The game God’s Unchained breaks top 10 NFT sales.
- Blockchain gamers have increased immensely in the past 30 days.
According to data by  DappRadar, blockchain games increased in active users in September. The game God’s Unchained came top ten in terms of total NFT sales volume of all projects. User activity has increased immensely this September with a lot of games posting substantial increases in the number of active users.
Seven out of the top ten games in terms of the number of “unique wallet addresses interacting with DApp’s smart contracts” increased over the past 30 days, with all of the top five games being in the green during that time frame.
The DApps which showed growth in the period include Web3 gaming platform Gameta, and blockchain-based games Alien Worlds, Benji Bananas and Splinterlands, Solitaire Blitz, Farmers World, and Arc8 by GAMEE.
In a blog post, it was noted that Web3 Mobile Games has brought Millions of Users to Blockchain. Eight of the current top 10 blockchain games are mobile-first, which could possibly bring more users to the blockchain. In the post by DappRadar;
Dapp games like Gameta, Benji Bananas, Upland, and Trickshot Blitz let anyone with a mobile device earn crypto with little prior knowledge, investment, or risk. Using daily activities like hyper-casual mobile games as a hook ensures users find fun once they interact, while solid tokenomics can encourage everyday use and retention.
The idea that stacking crypto and investments in a bear market pays off in the bull is almost proven at this point.
The biggest number of users came from Animoca Brands’ Benji Bananas (Polygon) which saw a 2016.54% increase over the past 30 days. Particularly, this game was a Web2 mobile app until March this year. Animoca then went on and introduced play-to-earn (P2E) elements via the Bored Ape Yacht Club-affiliated Ape Coin (APE).
While it is unclear what drew large numbers of Benji Bananas leading to an increase in the number of users, it did host a P2E gaming event this September that offered a series of valuable in-game NFTs to the winners. However, out of the top ten games, Axie Infinity, Trickshot Blitz, and Upland incurred decreases over the past 30 days.
Amonica Brands co-founder, Yat Siu, via a tweet, stated that purely looking at the metric of NFT sales volume doesn’t necessarily paint the whole picture in NFTs or gaming.
Siu pointed out that NFT prices have generally declined in conformity with the price of their paired assets such as ETH, while many other games, that are not in the spotlight, require NFTs that are somewhat cheaper. He emphasized that user activity and the number of people entering Web3 is where the focus should be.
5/ What has changed is that speculation of #NFTs has reduced due to the market and a lot of NFT purchases are for utility as can be seen in projects like @the_phantom_g which affects trading volume but does not affect user-adoption https://t.co/44Dyp2dtme
